Popular internet browser Opera announced that it will integrate BNB Chain, formerly known as the Binance Smart Chain, into its crypto web3 browser.

In a press release shared with CryptoSlate, the company said the integration will allow 350 million Opera browser users to access over 1,300 active dApps on BNB Chain and interact with millions of network users.

Opera is unlocking access to BNB Chain

The integration marks a significant move for both Opera and BNB Chain, which hosts thousands of decentralized applications with various uses and is the largest smart contract blockchain — in terms of daily active users.

The integration with Opera will mean that OPera users will be able to buy the BNB token with fiat and transact with it using the built-in Opera crypto wallet. Alongside providing access to funds and transactions on the BNB Chain, Opera will also offer its users seamless access to DEXs like PancakeSwap, 1inch, and BiSwap, and a plethora of other DeFi and GameFi projects.

Jorgen Arnesen, the executive vice president of mobile at Opera, said integrating the BNB Chain ecosystem will offer new and experienced Web3 users greater functionality. Opera already supports Ethereum and Polygon and intends to continue adding more networks in the coming months.

The integration with BNB Chain comes less than a month after its launch on iOS, which opened the service to millions of new users across the world. The launch followed the original beta release of the browser on Mac, Windows, and Android in January 2022.

Patrick Degenhardt, vice president of BNB Chain, told CryptoSlate:

“The objective of the BNB Chain community is to build the infrastructure powering the world’s parallel virtual ecosystem and attract the next billion people to crypto.”

He added that:

“Boosting the adoption of digital assets and blockchain technology requires major efforts on Web2 and Web3 integration. Opera’s Crypto Browser connects those two worlds. We are thrilled that this integration will grant Opera’s 350 million active users access to over 1,300 active BNB Chain dpps and their funds.”
