Crypto investments behemoth Grayscale and the National Football League team New York Giants have partnered up and are committing to “support the New York metro area,” according to an announcement published today.

“Our partnership with the Giants is incredibly meaningful because our roots are in New York,” said Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein, adding, “We’re excited to partner with such a forward-thinking franchise, to work together on philanthropic initiatives, and to continue to support the New York metropolitan community.”

Per the press release, Grayscale has now become the first cryptocurrency partner of an NFL team, obtaining the status of the “Official Digital Currency Asset Management Partner of the New York Giants.”

As part of this arrangement, will act as a presenting sponsor of the Giants Foundation annual golf outing. Founded in 1993, the foundation provides financial assistance to organizations that are helping to solve important community issues in the tri-state area.

Additionally, Grayscale will become a presenting home game sponsor and a supporting sponsor of the Giants’ training camp. The digital asset manager will also host educational seminars on cryptocurrencies for the teams’ personnel annually.

“We determined that we not only wanted a partner that understood the value of aligning with the Giants brand, but also could guide us in navigating the cryptocurrency ecosystem,” said the Giants CCO Pete Guelli, adding, “Grayscale quickly emerged as a company that shares our passion for the New York market but also has the institutional knowledge and network of partners that we can access as crypto continues to evolve.”

As CryptoSlate reported, Grayscale Investments is the largest digital assets manager in the industry today. It currently has over $49 billion worth of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum under its management—and keeps adding new funds.
