The Invesco Galaxy Ethereum ETF (QETH) is an investment product designed to provide investors with direct exposure to Ethereum, one of the leading cryptocurrencies. Launched by Galaxy Asset Management in partnership with Invesco Ltd., QETH offers a secure and efficient way to invest in Ethereum by directly holding the physical cryptocurrency.
The Invesco Galaxy Ethereum ETF is a spot exchange-traded product (ETP) that invests directly in physical Ethereum. This fund tracks the market price of Ethereum, as measured by the Lukka Prime Ethereum Reference Rate, offering investors a transparent and regulated means of gaining exposure to Ethereum’s price movements. QETH is listed on the Cboe BZX Exchange, making it accessible to a wide range of investors.
QETH operates by purchasing and securely storing Ethereum. Each share of the ETF represents a proportional ownership interest in the fund’s Ethereum holdings. Investors can buy, sell, and hold these shares through traditional brokerage accounts, providing a straightforward way to participate in the Ethereum market without managing digital wallets or dealing with cryptocurrency exchanges.
The launch of QETH builds on the successful partnership between Galaxy Asset Management and Invesco, following the earlier introduction of the Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCO). QETH leverages Invesco’s expertise in managing exchange-traded products and Galaxy’s institutional-grade infrastructure and deep experience in digital asset management. This collaboration aims to provide investors with efficient and secure exposure to Ethereum, complementing the existing lineup of digital asset ETFs offered by Invesco Galaxy.
The Invesco Galaxy Ethereum ETF is priced at 0.19%, or 19 basis points. However, Galaxy Asset Management has agreed to fully waive fees to 0.00% until January 31, 2025, for the first $10.0 billion in fund assets. After this period or once the fund exceeds $10.0 billion in assets, the standard expense ratio will apply. Brokerage fees and commissions may still apply, and investors should check with their brokers for additional information.
