Mira Murati began working with OpenAI in 2018, serving as the CTO of the company. Born in 1988 in Vlorë, Albania, she is an accomplished engineer and business executive. In November 2023, she served as OpenAI’s interim CEO for a brief period.

Mira embarked on her educational journey by leaving Albania at the age of 16 to attend Pearson College UWC on Vancouver Island, Canada. Graduating with an International Baccalaureate diploma in 2007 set the stage for her academic pursuits.
