Abelian is the world’s first blockchain system that is both post-quantum and privacy-preserving, with mathematically proven security and privacy. Its lattice-based post-quantum cryptosystems are based on CRYSTALS-Dilithium and Kyber, which have been chosen by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as the first batch of post-quantum cryptographic (PQcrypto) national standards.
Security and Privacy Assurance
Abelian’s security and privacy are both mathematically reduced to well-known quantum-resistant hard problems, ensuring the highest level of security and privacy assurance. It uses linkable ring signatures in the context of post-quantum security, providing multiple levels of privacy ranging from pseudonymity to full privacy.
Privacy and Pseudonymity
Abelian’s privacy coin ABEL supports full privacy, privacy with accountability, and pseudonymity. Full privacy protects sender and receiver wallet addresses and transaction amounts, while pseudonymity provides similar anonymity assurance to that of Bitcoin. Accountability allows a user to share trapdoor information with a third party, ensuring full privacy against the public while becoming pseudonymous to this third party.
Mining and Ecosystem
Abelian’s Proof-of-Work (POW) mechanism is compatible with that of the Ethereum 1.0, making it GPU friendly. Mining rigs and farms previously built for Ethereum 1.0 mining can be migrated to mine Abelian privacy coin ABEL. Abelian also aims to support other blockchain systems, including major EVM-equivalent blockchains, to be quantum-safe by applying Abelian’s lattice-based zero-knowledge proof systems. This will protect digital assets residing on other non-quantum-safe blockchains against quantum attacks.
