ZRO LayerZero
LayerZero Info
LayerZero is a protocol designed for lightweight message passing across various blockchain networks. It ensures authentic and guaranteed message delivery with configurable trustlessness, acting as a “blockchain of blockchains” that enables direct and trustless communication between different blockchain networks.
The key feature of LayerZero is its Ultra Light Nodes (ULNs), which are smart contracts that run on each blockchain and serve as endpoints for cross-chain communication. These nodes verify the validity of transactions and messages from other chains using block headers and transaction proofs, ensuring both security and efficiency.
LayerZero supports a wide range of blockchain networks, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Fantom, and others. It also supports non-EVM chains like Aptos. This omnichannel functionality is expected to play a significant role in a multi-chain future where different blockchain networks interact simultaneously.
Although LayerZero does not have a dedicated roadmap, it plans to integrate with additional blockchain networks and DeFi protocols in the future. The protocol also intends to create its own governance token and DAO.
