Crypto information outlet Crypto Head took a dive into social media platforms and revealed who are currently the most popular crypto influencers on the internet.

Answering the growing demand for valuable market insight, crypto experts and industry insiders are being followed by millions on social media platforms.

Who is it?

In order to rank crypto influencers according to the outreach they have, the report compared follower numbers across four different social media platforms–Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

Judging by the highest number of subscribers to his social media accounts, especially TikTok and YouTube, Ben Armstrong surfaced as the newsfeed kingpin, with 5.18 million total social followers.

His informative YouTube channel ‘BitBoy Crypto’ that teaches about “all things Bitcoin and crypto” topped 1.4 million subscribers in roughly three years’ time.

The founder of the world’s leading crypto exchange, Binance, Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ is the second in line–with 4.3 million devoted followers who want to be sure they are not missing out on any of his updates on Twitter and Instagram.

Vitalik Buterin amassed the third strongest following–with 3.8 million between Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

Why does it matter?

“Twitter appears to be the social media platform of choice for most ‘crypto-fluencers’ as the top 50 influencers have a combined Twitter following of over 44 million–more than any other platform,” read the report.

The Binance founder has the strongest presence on Twitter, where he undeniably wins the outreach race with 4.2 million followers.

Meanwhile, Ben ‘BitBoy Crypto’ Armstrong, who has the strongest social media presence–all platforms combined–enjoys 2.6 million followers on TikTok.

“This could suggest a keen younger demographic that wants to become more informed through the convenience of bitesize videos,” commented Crypto Head.

If understood as a form of social proof, follower numbers could be considered as a metric for gauging one’s position of authority.

Even though crypto’s finest are still far behind major influencers with over 100 million followers on platforms like Twitter and TikTok, their outreach is growing rapidly–alongside the demand for accurate and insightful information.

Information, news, and lastly, influence, diffuse in society–thanks to connections between participants. These can typically be established by frequent contact, mutual interests, and in this particular case, reinforced–by clicking the ‘follow,’ or ‘subscribe’ button.

As nodes in a network–crypto influencers have one of the key roles in this diffusion process that precedes the majestic force, also known as ‘adoption.’
