Former ConsenSys Sales and Marketing head to lead Cronos chain and Particle B
Ken Timsit named Managing Director for the Cronos chain and the blockchain startup accelerator Particle B.
Former ConsenSys Sales and Marketing Leader Ken Timsit will lead Cronos chain and Particle B as the new Managing Director.
Cronos runs in parallel to the Crypto.org Chain, and is the first Ethereum-compatible blockchain network built on Cosmos SDK technology.
Particle B is a Web3 startup accelerator that focuses on DeFi and Gamefi projects and furthering the development of the Cronos ecosystem.
Taking the lead
“I’ve long admired the Cronos project from afar and am honored to lead it at such a critical time of growth and innovation,” said Timsit, who stepped into the new role coming from ConsenSys.
At ConsenSys, the blockchain technology company behind some of the world’s most popular crypto products like MetaMask and Infura, Timsit held a number of leadership roles, most recently as chief revenue officer in charge of worldwide sales and marketing.
Since mainnet launch in November 2021, Cronos topped $2 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL), and surpassed 13 million network transactions.
The open-source Layer 1 blockchain is poised to massively scale the DeFi and dApp ecosystem–leveraging built-in interoperability that allows devs to instantly port apps and crypto assets from other chains, paired with low cost, high throughput and fast finality.
With more than 340.000 users, Cronos already became home to around 100 Web3 projects.
Big year ahead
“We are uniquely positioned to accelerate development of the rapidly-growing DeFi and GameFi ecosystem by supporting its developers on the Cronos EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible chain,” Timsit added.
The Cronos Community Roadmap for 2022 aims to propel Cronos among the top five blockchains by TVL.
Rapid expansion of the ecosystem in DeFi, NFT, Gamefi, and Metaverse Dapps with at-scale infrastructure and SDK support for developers is high on the agenda.
The focus will also be on boosting the transaction throughput (TPS) through breakthrough database optimization, and on bolstering blockchain connectivity and interoperability.
Launched in May 2021, Particle B’s $100 million ecosystem fund is dedicated to projects building on Cronos–leveraging the support for such high aspirations.
Particle B’s developer support activities include grant programs, startup incubator, user acquisition incentives, technical support, marketing support, and investor introductions.
