Fred Thiel

Fred Thiel is the CEO of Marathon Digital Holdings (NASDAQ:MARA), a digital asset technology company that mines cryptocurrencies with a focus on the blockchain ecosystem and the generation of digital assets.

He is a respected expert and frequent speaker on FinTech, digital assets, Blockchain, bitcoin, crypto mining, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, venture capital, private equity and the digital transformations of companies and industries, providing deep technology industry expertise and strategic advice on transformational value creation – the process of generating growth and shareholder value.

With over 25 years of operating expertise, Fred has led businesses in the semiconductor, data communications, Internet, Internet of Things, automation, artificial intelligence, digital media, and software sectors. On numerous occasions, he has fostered rapid growth and produced hundreds of billions of dollars in shareholder value.

As a CEO, Fred successfully oversaw M&A and roll-up strategies, as well as corporate turnarounds and wind downs. He also steered firms through rapid growth to IPO, repositioned businesses for high-value exits to strategic and financial acquirers, and managed M&A and roll-up strategies.

Fred attended classes at the Stockholm School of Economics and executive classes at Harvard Business School. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Swedish and French.
