Eric Semler

Eric Semler is an accomplished investor and entrepreneur, currently serving as the Chairman of Semler Scientific’s board of directors since April 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University.

Career

Semler began his professional journey as a journalist, working for the New York Times and the Moscow News in Russia. He co-authored two books published by Harper Collins: The Language of Nuclear War and The Businessman’s Guide to Moscow.

Investment Career

In 2001, Semler founded TCS Capital Management, a long/short investment fund focused on technology, media, and telecommunications. At its peak, TCS Capital Management was among the largest independent investment funds in its sector worldwide. In 2017, he converted it into a family office. Semler has played a significant role in unlocking value for several public companies, including Angie’s List, DHI Group, Geeknet, Nielsen/NetRatings, and Xueda Education Group. He currently serves on the board of Fundstrat Global Advisors and has previously served on the boards of Angie’s List, the Maven, and Geeknet.com.

Other Ventures and Contributions

Semler is the founder and chairman of the Bronx Baseball Dreams Foundation, a charitable organization that helps underserved New York City youth develop baseball and academic skills to earn college baseball scholarships. In 2019, he and his wife Tracy founded the Raising Fame podcast franchise, partnering with NBA parents Dell and Sonya Curry. The podcast is currently being developed into a TV show co-hosted by Sonya Curry and Lucille O’Neal, the mother of Shaquille O’Neal.
