Powered by TONX and supported by the global TON community, The Open Summit was held from August 6-8, 2024 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center TaiNEX2.Despite market fluctuations, enthusiasm for TON remained strong, with over 30 leading TON ecosystem partners, TON Society leads, game developers, and investors gathering in vibrant Taipei. TON is widely recognized as the mass adoption engine of Web3.
TON Ecosystem Unveils Major Developments at The Open Summit
The Open Summit was a stage for major TON announcements, reflecting the rapid expansion of the TON blockchain ecosystem. TONX secured $4 million in funding from leading Asia-Pacific venture capital firms SNZ Holding and Summer Ventures. Additionally, TONX announced a strategic partnership with IoTeX to bring DePIN technology to 950 million Telegram users.
TONX ID also revealed collaborations with over 20 Summer Gift Bag partners. Tonkeeper introduced its new Signer App, enhancing security and user experience within the TON blockchain ecosystem. Meanwhile, Televerse, founded by veterans of WeChat Mini Games, successfully completed a $1 million seed funding round, highlighting the growing interest in TON blockchain gaming. Catizen announced the launch of the Catizen Game Center, which includes over 200 mini-games, and an upgrade to its gaming bot, further expanding its gaming ecosystem.
Other notable announcements included the launch of Genopets’ latest social PvP battle game, Pixelton Arena, now live as a Telegram mini-app. Tonbit introduced the first Capture The Flag competition on TON, and XPLUS unveiled its Game Launcher and Accelerator program. Lastly, Yescoin revealed the Yes Angel initiative, aimed at uniting the community and rewarding contributors who make outstanding contributions to the platform.
Over 40 TON Ecosystem Speakers Converge at The Open Summit in Taipei
Key discussions highlighted the innovation and leadership within the TON ecosystem. Steve Yun, President of the TON Foundation, set the stage with an opening keynote, offering insights into the platform’s vision and its role in advancing blockchain technology. In the session ‘Reimagining Entrepreneurship,’ Luke Belmar, President of Capital Club, and Jack Booth, CMO of TON Society, explored how blockchain is reshaping entrepreneurship.
Another important discussion, “Enhancing Blockchain Ecosystems,” featured Dr. Awesome Doge, Co-Founder of TONX, and TM Lee, CEO/Co-Founder of CoinGecko who emphasized the critical role of data providers and infrastructure. The summit also included a fireside chat with Xin Song, CEO of GSR, and Yongjin Kim, Founder & CEO of Flipster, moderated by Timmy Shen, Asia Editor of The Block. Together, they explored the evolving landscape of blockchain trading platforms.

A highlight of The Open Summit was the interactive engagement with the TON ecosystem through TONX ID, accessible via the Telegram app. TONX ID is a vital digital credential designed to connect communities across the TON ecosystem, bridging the gap between businesses, developers, and investors.
Attendees with TONX ID had the opportunity to participate in exclusive giveaways and receive complimentary gifts from top projects within the TON ecosystem. Interactive Experiences at The Open Summit, Featuring a Summer Chill Area and 1,900 Bananas
The Open Summit redefined the typical tech event experience with its summer-themed chill area, a vibrant reflection of the real-life applications of TON and the fun, community-driven spirit of the ecosystem. This area became the hub of connection and networking at ABS2024, where attendees could enjoy coffee from RoOLZ, savor hotdogs and kombucha from the Catizen-themed food truck, and grab one of over 1,900 Taiwanese bananas, powered by Banana by Carv. This unique space highlighted how TON not only powers innovative technology but also creates enjoyable, engaging experiences for its community.
Code Summer Hackathon: $1M Prize Pool Powered by MEXC Venture
The three-day Code Summer Hackathon offered participants the chance to compete for a share of more than $1M in prize pool. TONX contributed $500K, showcasing its commitment to supporting developers as a SuperApp platform layer. MEXC Ventures, a comprehensive fund under MEXC Group, contributed a $500K prize pool and KuCoin Ventures, a fund that supports Web3 builders both financially and strategically under KuCoin, supported developers with a $50K prize pool.
The hackathon attracted over 500+ developers worldwide, with fourteen teams advancing to the final demo day in Taipei. Finalists included Banana, All at Once, Tradoor, QuackQuack, TON Polling, FansNetwork, TokenSpritz, Chick Coop, Pea.AI, TONCA$H, GEDA, SnapX, WonerBits, Cat Battle, and The Open Ocean. The top three winners were:
