This October, virtual blockchain conference BlockDown returns for its third event, tackling the biggest issues and encouraging thoughtful debate among crypto’s brightest minds, with a focus on the hottest topic of the moment, De-fi.

The BlockDown conference which originated from the CoVid 19 crises has a reputation for pulling together the biggest names in the industry in a range of debates, fireside chats and masterminds.

The third event will take place from October 22-23, and is set to dedicate a whole day to decentralised finance, the movement which has taken the crypto world by storm this year, and is set to feature speakers and representatives from a huge range of DeFi projects and oracles including DIA and Tellor.

There’s also a range of interesting fireside chats, debates and mastermind sessions lined up including Alex Masmej, founder of $Alex who tokenized himself and allowed others to vote on his life decisions demonstrating the possibilities and flexibility of tokenisation.

The event will be attended and covered by top financial and crypto news publications, including Bloomberg, Fortune Magazine, Coindesk and CryptoSlate with representatives moderating high profile panels and debates.

The Grammy-nominated music artist, Akon, is back for a third appearance at BlockDown as plans and developments continue apace for his project Akoin. Akon has previously used the BlockDown conference as a platform to announce major new partnerships, with previous announcements including Akoins integration into Kenya’s Mwale City.

Camila Russo, founder of blockchain newsletter The Defiant, will host a panel on meme coins such as $PASTA and $SUSHI and attempt, with her guests, to explain this new trend sweeping the industry.

Other debates will examine the bull and bear cases for DeFi, the rise of yield farming and what it means for the industry and market sentiment during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

BlockDown is the brainchild of leading blockchain and crypto PR agency EAK Digital, led by Founder & CEO Erhan Korhaliller. He said:

“Since the previous BlockDown conference we have seen this huge surge of interest in Defi, which is going to be a strong catalyst for the next bull run. It is important that we educate the community of the inherent opportunities and risks that Defi poses in a way that can be understood by your average crypto enthusiast”

BlockDown has laid the foundations in 2020 for a new way to host and organise conferences, attracting more than 10,000 attendees globally to its first two events.

The BlockDown conference will be bought to a close with a 2-hour 3D Virtual afterparty for paid ticket holders.
