GEODNET is a decentralized network of roof-mounted GNSS reference stations that monitor space weather and collect precise geospatial data. The network uses blockchain technology to incentivize the deployment of these stations and reward operators with GEOD tokens.
The GEODNET stations extract satellite navigation observations to create a dataset. Once registered within the network, a capable mining node can earn GEOD tokens by providing real-time, multi-band RTK data validated using Proof-of-Accuracy and Proof-of-Location protocols.
The data collected by GEODNET is used to provide highly accurate RTK corrections to GNSS receivers within 20-40km of a reference station. This enables centimeter-level positioning accuracy for applications in industries such as agriculture, construction, transportation, and autonomous vehicles.
GEOD tokens serve as the native utility token for the GEODNET ecosystem. They are used to pay for data streams and services, reward space weather miners, and facilitate governance decisions. In the future, GEOD may also be used as gas for location and time proofs on the GEODNET blockchain.
GEODNET aims to build the world's largest decentralized RTK network, leveraging blockchain technology to incentivize the deployment of reference stations and provide affordable, high-precision location services at scale.
