The non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles sector has seen many new entrants among celebrities this year. Everyone has made inroads into the market, from pop stars like Jason Derulo to sports stars like Steph Curry.

Rappers are not left out, too, with Jay Z, Eminem, Lil pump, and Ja Rule acquiring some NFTs. But the biggest news came on Monday as Snoop Dogg revealed he is the one behind the pseudonymous Twitter account, Cozomo de’ Medici, an NFT whale holding millions worth of assets in the nascent crypto sub-sector.

Snoop Dogg is Cozomo

The legendary rapper revealed this on Monday through a series of tweets. Cozomo de’ Medici joined Twitter and OpenSea back in August with his wallet on the marketplace containing up to $17 million worth of NFTs.

The total number of NFTs in the wallet at the time of writing is approximately 207, and this collection includes NFTs such as CryptoPunks, Snoop Dogg cash, and Cosmoflowers.

Since the account was created, Cozomo has been buying NFTs regularly. On Twitter, the Cozomo de’ Medici account has over 40k followers posts majorly about the NFT space.

The bio reads, “Sharing tales & insights from the wild world of NFTs. Follow to connect,” and there’s a link to the Cozomo Opensea account. The pinned tweet on the account talks about Cozomo’s foray into NFTs as he revealed that he bought his first useless jpeg for $2 million.

Cozomo is introducing others into NFT

Beyond talking about NFTs and collecting, it appears that the Cozomo also helps other celebrities to acquire NFT.

When Jason Derulo joined the NFT Gang, he tagged Cozomo de’ Medici in his tweet to thank him for introducing him to the world of NFTs. While many people have been wondering who’s behind the account, no one imagined it would be Snoop Dogg until he revealed it himself.

After revealing his identity, Snoop used his Cozomo Twitter account to gift 1 ETH to one of his Twitter followers. He claimed that many prefer to continue referring to him as Cozomo and appreciated the “outpouring of kindness.” Since revealing himself, Cozomo de’ Medici continues to organize giveaways on his account.
