How this score is calculated Model v1.0 · Current conditions, not a forecast.

What it measures

The model converts price momentum, logarithmic historical position, milestone recency, and short-term volume confirmation into one 0–100 score. Missing evidence lowers data coverage instead of counting as neutral.

How to read it

50 is the neutral midpoint. Scores of 60 or higher are bullish, 40 or lower are bearish, and 41–59 are neutral.

About Squid

Squid is a cross-chain infrastructure protocol designed to enable the movement of digital assets and value across multiple blockchain networks. The platform abstracts away much of the complexity associated with bridges, gas tokens, network switching, and transaction approvals by allowing users to express cross-chain transactions as a single intent, such as sending one asset and receiving another on a specified destination chain. The native QUID token supports staking, ecosystem access, and governance across the Squid network.

Overview

Squid provides infrastructure for applications that need to move assets and execute transactions across heterogeneous blockchain ecosystems. Its network supports more than 100 blockchains and thousands of tokens across EVM and non-EVM environments, including Cosmos, Bitcoin, Solana, XRP Ledger, and Hedera.

Rather than requiring users to interact directly with individual bridges and decentralized exchanges, Squid coordinates routing across its supported networks and liquidity sources. This approach is intended to make cross-chain activity resemble a single transaction from the user's perspective.

History and Background

Squid launched in January 2023 as infrastructure for cross-chain asset transfers and interoperability. Since launch, the protocol reports processing more than $6.2 billion in cross-chain transaction volume across more than 4.12 million transactions and serving over 1.09 million unique users.

The infrastructure has also been integrated into more than 1,000 products and applications, including wallets, exchanges, and blockchain applications. Integrations have included MetaMask, Ripple, Ledger, MiniPay by Opera, Blockchain.com, Keplr, Brave, and PancakeSwap.

Technology and Product Stack

Squid's architecture is built around intent-based cross-chain execution. Instead of requiring users to determine the sequence of bridges, swaps, gas payments, and transactions themselves, the protocol interprets the desired outcome and determines a route across available infrastructure.

The Squid product stack includes several components:

  • Squid Intents, the protocol layer responsible for coordinating cross-chain execution, with the network targeting sub-five-second execution for supported routes.
  • Squid Aggregator, which routes transactions across more than 130 decentralized exchanges and off-chain liquidity sources.
  • Squid Token Service and Accounts, which provide token and account abstraction capabilities.
  • Squid SDK, developer tooling for integrating cross-chain functionality into applications.
  • Squid Bridge, the live bridge product for transferring assets between supported networks.
  • Consumer application, an additional product planned for the Squid ecosystem.

The protocol's network coverage spans more than 106 chains, including EVM and non-EVM ecosystems. Its support for Cosmos, Bitcoin, Solana, XRP Ledger, and Hedera is particularly relevant because these environments use different technical architectures and interoperability standards.

Role of the QUID Token

QUID is the native token of the Squid ecosystem and is designed to coordinate participation among users and ecosystem stakeholders.

  • Staking, allowing participants to stake QUID and earn additional tokens from a dedicated non-inflationary allocation.
  • Priority access, providing access to selected protocol products, premium tiers, and exclusive yield strategies.
  • Governance, initially through participation in Ecosystem Council appointments, with planned expansion toward protocol parameters, treasury allocation, and chain onboarding.

Use Cases and Market Position

Squid serves developers, wallets, exchanges, and end users that require interoperability across blockchain networks. Developers can integrate its infrastructure to provide cross-chain swaps, transfers, and application interactions without building separate connectivity solutions for every supported chain.

The protocol operates within the broader blockchain interoperability market, where infrastructure providers compete to simplify communication and asset movement between increasingly fragmented networks. Squid's focus on intent-based execution and broad non-EVM coverage positions it as infrastructure for applications seeking a unified multichain user experience.

Risks and Considerations

Cross-chain infrastructure carries technical and security risks because transactions can depend on multiple blockchains, liquidity sources, smart contracts, validators, and routing mechanisms. Vulnerabilities in connected protocols or underlying networks can affect the security or execution of cross-chain transactions.

Squid also operates in a rapidly evolving interoperability market with competing bridge, messaging, and intent-based protocols. Users should consider liquidity, execution conditions, supported routes, smart contract security, and the specific risks of the destination and source networks when using cross-chain services.

As blockchain ecosystems continue to fragment across multiple execution environments, Squid represents an effort to abstract interoperability into a unified transaction experience while providing developers with infrastructure for moving digital value across a broad multichain network.
