2018 looks to be a great year for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. There are events on all over the globe discussing the latest trends–with exciting new startups, ICO’s, and blockchain disruption being just a few of the topics featured. We have picked ten of the hottest cryptocurrency and blockchain events happening this year and brought them to you.

Dallas, Texas
Dallas, a modern metropolis in north Texas, is a commercial and cultural hub of the region.

Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Con 2018

When: February 22nd – 24th

Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Con 2018 (BCC-2018) will be the first international conference in Texas devoted to blockchain and decentralized technologies. Not only will the conference be holding lectures and panels, there will also be opportunities to take part in classes. R3, a fintech startup, will be conducting a two-day Corda developer training course.

This course is currently only available in London, New York, and Singapore but will also be offered at the conference for a heavily discounted price. In Addition, Blockmatics will be conducting three seperate training classes—including a two-hour Ethereum Smart Contract Workshop for developers, a six-hour Business of Blockchains class, and a one-hour Blockchain for Lawyers class.

The Gibraltar International Fintech Forum 2018 will be a two-day conference with a range of thought provoking discussions and speeches from a number of leading industry experts in Blockchain, Crypto, Regulation, ICO, and Payments from across the globe. The discussions will range from the expected crypto exchange landscape for 2018 to how Blockchain can be used in social enterprises.

This will be the fourth Blockchain Africa conference to take place, as the event was established in 2014. Blockchain Africa will discuss the opportunities, challenges, and exciting new possibilities available with the innovation and disruption of blockchain applications.

The Cryptocurrency Investor Summit (CIS) is a FREE one-day event for people who are interested in or new to the cryptocurrency world. CIS will help people to understand what cryptocurrency is and why it is viewed as the gold rush of our time by investors, banks, and governments. Their website proclaims that “By the end of the event, you’ll leave with the knowledge and opportunities to make your money work harder for you than ever before, while also ensuring that your assets are protected and future-proof.”

Free events in the Crypto world are hard to find. This is a great event to attend if you are interested in starting to invest in crypto or just want to know what all the hype is about.

Austin
Austin is the state capital of Texas, an inland city bordering the Hill Country region.

SXSW Crypto Summit: New Girls on the Block and ICO Pitching Day

When: March 12th and 13th

Day One of the event is brought to you by ‘New Girls on the Block.’ This is where you will get the chance to see some of the most inspirational women in blockchain, who will be hosting a highly anticipated program of panel discussions, fireside chats, and keynotes. This is the second year that CryptoBlockCon is being held. Speakers at the conference will be discussing and breaking down the future benefits of blockchain and crypto assets, as well as showcasing companies who are using this technology to disrupt industries and continuously innovating. Their agenda and speakers are yet to be finalized, but they already have some industry leaders signed up for the event, including: Spencer Montgomery, a blockchain evangelist for Microsoft and Jason Robert, the Co-founder and CEO of HelloSugoi.

 

Berlin, Germany
Berlin, Germany’s capital, dates to the 13th century. Reminders of the city’s turbulent 20th-century history include its Holocaust memorial and the Berlin Wall’s graffitied remains.

Blockshow Europe 2018

Blockshow is one of the biggest conferences in the industry. It really is a ‘who’s who’ of the leaders in blockchain. They showcase solutions that blockchain technology is providing and always have hot annoucements on the latests ICO’s, startups, and new products being released. In addition, Blockshow also hosts the ICOscars, where selected startups compete by presenting their groundbreaking solutions. Previous winners of the award include: Bancor, Status, Etherisc and Solarchange (raising a combined $200mln in ICO funding).

They hold three events throughout the year with the first being Blockshow Europe. Blockshow USA will be held in August and Blockshow Asia will be held in November.

 

Hamburg, Germany
Hamburg, a major port city in northern Germany, is connected to the North Sea by the Elbe River.

UnChain

Unchain is a two-day conference, featuring some of the world’s leading Cryptocurrency and Blockchain experts and entrepreneurs. At UnChain, they will discuss a range of topics–including technology and development, potential business opportunities, cryptocurrencies, and the impact of the industry on legislation, politics and society.

The main goal of the event is to connect the Bitcoin and Blockchain community with leading German companies of various industries. According to their website, the event will be creating a unique experience for speakers, sponsors, and ticket holders by setting the stage with a number of performance, parties, excursions and surprises.

Notable speakers include: Erik Voorhees, Founder and CEO of Shapeshift; Susanne Tarkowski Tempelhof, Founder and CEO of Bitnation; and Rosine Kadimani, the Founder of Blockchain Academy, Sao Paulo.

 

San Francisco, in northern California, is a hilly city on the tip of a peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. It’s known for its year-round fog, iconic Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and colorful Victorian houses.

Token Fest

Malta Blockchain Summit

When: November 1st and 2nd

Malta is leading the way when it comes to blockchain technology and is quickly becoming known as “the blockchain island” of the world. Therefore it is no surprise that one of the biggest blockchain events of the year will be held in Malta at the end of the year.

The event will have discussions surrounding the world-changing potential applications of the Blockchain as well as AI and IoT. The Summit expects 5,000 delegates, with a Hackathon as well as an ICO Pitch with hundreds of investors.
