Bankrupt FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) has hired white-collar defense attorney Mark S. Cohen, as reported by Reuters.
SBF is facing civil lawsuits from FTX investors and customers. The hire was revealed by SBF's spokesperson Mark Botnick via an email. Stanford Law School Professor David Mills is also consulting on the matter, according to Botnick's email.
Cohen & Gresser‘s Mark Cohen is a former assistant United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York. Cohen previously worked for El Chapo and Ghislaine Maxwell.
SBF, on the other hand, previously hired Martin Flumenbaum to defend him against civil lawsuits. Flumenbaum's firm, however, said that Flumenbaum was no longer representing SBF due to conflicts.
