Jan Van Eck

Jan Van Eck is an American investment executive and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Van Eck Associates Corporation. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Williams College with a major in Economics and holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from Stanford University.

Career

Van Eck joined Van Eck Associates Corporation in 1991 and was added to the Executive Management Team in 1998. In 2010, he was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Van Eck Associates Corporation. Additionally, he serves as the President and CEO of Van Eck Securities Corporation. Van Eck is also a Trustee and the President and CEO of VanEck ETF Trust, VanEck Funds, and VanEck VIP Trust.

Contributions to VanEck

Van Eck has been instrumental in spearheading the launch of multiple innovative mutual funds, ETFs, and institutional vehicles spanning various asset classes and strategies. He founded the firm’s ETF business in 2006. Through a series of business acquisitions, partnerships, and global product development, the ETF business has grown to become one of the largest globally, with offerings domiciled in the U.S., Europe, and Australia.
