Adena Friedman Bio
Adena Friedman was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Nasdaq on January 1, 2017, and she now serves as Chair of the Board of Directors.ย Prior to being named CEO, Adena worked as President and Chief Operating Officer for the company in 2016, supervising all business sectors with a focus on driving efficiency, product creation, growth, and expansion.
She returned to Nasdaq in 2014 after serving as Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director of The Carlyle Group from March 2011 to June 2014, where she was instrumental in the company’s first public offering in May 2012.
She graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management with a Master of Business Administration.
