Who Operates Vave
The current operator is Chestoption Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada, a company registered in Costa Rica that took over the brand from Curaçao-registered TechOptions Group B.V. in 2024. The same two entities stand behind the casino brands Hell Spin and Ivibet: Australia's ACMA named TechOptions Group B.V. as Hell Spin's operator in a September 2022 formal warning, and later Dutch enforcement over Vave was addressed to Chestoption. Costa Rica registers companies but does not licence or supervise online gambling, so Vave's operator answers to no gaming regulator in its home jurisdiction.
Ownership History
Vave launched in 2022 with TechOptions Group B.V. as its named operator, running on a Curaçao eGaming sublicence — the site itself never displayed a licence number, though third-party directories recorded one. In 2024, operations transferred to Chestoption Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada in Costa Rica, and TechOptions Group B.V. stopped appearing in licensing databases. Neither company has publicly documented whether the change was a sale or an internal re-registration, and Vave's help centre continued to name TechOptions Group B.V. as the operator after the move — so which entity holds player obligations at any given time is only established by the terms published on the site.
Licensing and Regulatory Record
At launch, Vave held the sublicence arrangement that was standard for Curaçao crypto casinos of its generation. That cover ended with the 2024 move: Chestoption does not appear in the Curaçao licence register, and Costa Rica issues no online-gambling licences, which leaves Vave without a verifiable active third-party licence.
The Dutch regulator has acted against the operator twice. On 29 April 2025, the Kansspelautoriteit issued Chestoption a cease-and-desist order covering vave.com, vave-luck.com, and 65avev55.com, with penalties of €280,000 per week up to €840,000 if Dutch players kept their access. It went on to demand the full €840,000 and, in June 2026, imposed a further fine of €3,082,000 after inspections found the sites still reachable from the Netherlands.
