Ownership and Corporate History
The brand's parent traces back to 2013, when Tim Heath founded the Coingaming Group in Tallinn, Estonia. Bitcasino.io arrived in 2014, and Sportsbet.io followed in 2016 as the group's dedicated sportsbook. In September 2021, Coingaming rebranded as Yolo Group, keeping both consumer brands under its Yolo Entertainment division.
The licensing footing changed in 2024. Sportsbet.io had long pointed to legacy Curaçao master licence 1668/JAZ; on 22 July 2024, mBet Solutions N.V. was granted its own licence, OGL/2023/110/0072, from the Curaçao Gaming Authority under the island's reformed National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK).
In late 2025, Yolo Group announced a strategic shift away from grey-market operations toward fully regulated jurisdictions, consolidating its consumer betting under a single Yolo.com brand and signalling that Sportsbet.io and Bitcasino.io would be wound down or divested. In February 2026, trade press reported that Yolo Group was in advanced talks to sell both brands to Stockholm-listed Betsson AB. As of July 2026 no completed sale has been announced, and the site continues to operate under mBet Solutions N.V. with its Curaçao licence listed as active.
