BitStarz is a crypto casino that has been live since 2014, making it one of the longest-running brands in the sector, and it accepts both cryptocurrency and fiat payments rather than operating crypto-only. The site is run today by Gareton B.V., a Curaçao company licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority — a named operator with a paper trail stretching back over a decade, which few crypto casino sites can match.

Ownership and Licence History
Three Curaçao entities have run BitStarz since its 2014 launch. The original operator was Direx N.V. (registration no. 131879, E-Commerce Park Vredenberg, Curaçao), which worked through Direx Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary in Nicosia, Cyprus, with licensing and supervision provided by Antillephone N.V.
Between late 2020 and mid-2021, operations passed to Dama N.V. (registration no. 152125, Scharlooweg 39, Willemstad), the company that took over the Direx casino portfolio and became one of Curaçao's most prolific casino operators. Dama ran BitStarz under Antillephone licence 8048/JAZ2020-013, with Friolion Limited of Limassol, Cyprus, acting as its agent. When Curaçao's 2024 gambling reform (the LOK) replaced the old master-licence system with direct licensing, Dama transitioned BitStarz onto its own Curaçao Gaming Authority licence, OGL/2023/174/0082.
The current arrangement dates to mid-2025: terms updated on 25 June 2025 name Gareton B.V. (registration no. 160656, Landhuis Zuikertuin, Zuikertuintjeweg z/n, Willemstad, Curaçao) as the managing company, holding Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/165/0185. Gaming obligations sit with the licence holder of record, so the entity named in the site footer at any given time is the one accountable for player balances and payouts.
