DUBAI, UAE, January 17th, 2024, Chainwire — BNB Chain, the community-driven blockchain ecosystem that includes the world’s largest smart contract blockchain, today announced its 2024 hackathon program which seeks to accelerate the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other notable sectors in Web3. The ‘Building Smart and Fully-On-Chain Applications’ hackathon not only incentivizes the next wave of AI innovation but also features additional tracks in line with emerging trends shaping the industry and has an impressive line up of industry leading sponsors including Polyhedra Network, Dora Factory, DEGO Finance, TUSD (TrueUSD), and THENA.
2024 is predicted to be a booming year for Web3 across multiple industries. In addition to AI applications garnering $25 billion in funding across 2023, projections show an astonishing growth rate of $922 million in 2022 to $7.1 billion by 2032 for the gaming industry driven by interactive AI-based games. DappRader data also showcases significant Web3 gaming growth with approximately 1 million unique active wallets (UAW) engaging with Web3 games in the past few months.
In addition to these booming trends, DePin and DeSci have been highlighted as ‘crypto innovations to watch in 2024’. The growth of DeSoc is also at the top of mind. To that end, the BNB Chain hackathon 2024 has been established to offer developers the opportunity to build in the following tracks and make their mark:
- AI Track
- Infrastructure Track
- Gaming Track
- DePIN Track
- DeSoc Track
- DeSci Track
In addition to the 2024 tracks, extra challenges from our hackathon partners will be available in Q1 to provide a broader scope for creativity and innovation.
In the first quarter (Q1) of the 2024 hackathon, participants will have access to a $60,000 pool of funding. Winners will be granted a comprehensive Kickstart package worth $300,000 — $50,000 each — including credits from AWS, Google Cloud and other crucial development tools. Extra rewards will be available from the sponsor track where participants can seek to increase their funding with an additional prize pool of up to $115,000.
Winners will also be eligible for BNB Chain support for up to one month post event with a dedicated technical support group. They will get the opportunity to directly interview with MVB. To thank and recognize developers contributing to the BNB Chain ecosystem, a $10,000 prize pool will be distributed to all qualifying submissions. Registrations open from January 18th to February 1st, 2024 and workshops will run on January 18th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 29th, 31st, and February 1st, 2024.
The submission period will be from February 8th to 22nd, 2024. Winners will be announced on March 1st, 2024.
