Ted Cruz

Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz (born December 22, 1970) is an American politician and attorney serving as the junior United States Senator from Texas since 2013. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to a Cuban father and American mother. Cruz earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Princeton University and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.

Legal and Political Career

Prior to his election to the Senate, Cruz served as Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 to 2008, becoming the youngest person and first Hispanic to hold the position. He also worked in the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission.
