About CryptoSlate
CryptoSlate is one of the most established names in crypto media and data. The site combines real-time crypto news, market data, and a growing portfolio of comparison and review products across exchanges, wallets, cards, launchpads, presales, prop-trading firms, and other commercial verticals.
CryptoSlate sits at the intersection of editorial authority, data, SEO, and product-led growth. Its reviews, guides, and comparisons are how readers decide which crypto and fintech products to trust, which makes editorial accuracy and quality the core of the brand.
Upshift Media owns and operates CryptoSlate. This role is focused on CryptoSlate.com and its evergreen content.
About the Role
CryptoSlate is looking for an experienced SEO and evergreen content editor to lead, edit, and improve high-intent crypto and fintech content across reviews, guides, comparisons, and project coverage.
This role is for someone who already understands the crypto industry, not someone looking to learn it from scratch. The editor should be comfortable working with content on crypto exchanges, crypto cards, wallets, launchpads, presales, token projects, DeFi tools, prop-trading / funded-account firms, and beginner-to-advanced crypto guides.
The right candidate combines editorial judgment, SEO discipline, crypto-native knowledge, and a practical command of AI-assisted workflows. AI tools should make research, outlining, editing, refreshing, and quality control faster without weakening accuracy, sourcing, originality, or reader trust.
What You’ll Work On
- Crypto exchange reviews and comparisons.
- Crypto debit and credit card reviews.
- Crypto wallet reviews, including hot wallets, cold wallets, mobile wallets, hardware wallets, and self-custody tools.
- Crypto guides, explainers, and how-to content for beginner, intermediate, and advanced readers.
- Launchpad reviews and token launch coverage.
- Coin, presale, and crypto project reviews.
- Prop-trading and funded-account firm reviews, comparisons, and guides.
- Best-of pages, listicles, commercial SEO pages, and comparison content.
- Content refreshes for pages where facts, fees, product features, rankings, or market context have changed.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit long-form SEO content for clarity, accuracy, structure, search intent, and reader usefulness.
- Review crypto and fintech content for factual accuracy, especially around fees, supported assets, KYC, security, proof of reserves, jurisdictional availability, tokenomics, roadmap claims, and product features.
- Ensure every material claim is properly sourced, current, and not overstated.
- Shape articles so they answer the search intent quickly, then provide useful depth.
- Improve headings, intros, metadata, FAQs, internal links, comparison tables, verdicts, and review structures.
- Work with writers and AI-assisted drafts to turn rough copy into publishable editorial content.
- Identify weak, generic, outdated, or unsupported claims and replace them with specific, evidence-backed analysis.
- Refresh existing evergreen pages when products, fees, features, rankings, or project details change.
- Maintain a consistent editorial voice across crypto reviews, fintech guides, and commercial SEO pages.
- Collaborate with SEO, content, and publishing teams to prioritize updates, new articles, and revenue-driving pages.
Required Experience
- Previous professional experience in crypto, fintech, or digital assets content is required.
- Strong understanding of crypto exchanges, wallets, stablecoins, DeFi, token launches, presales, trading products, custody models, staking, and common user risks.
- Proven experience editing SEO-driven evergreen content.
- Experience with commercial content such as reviews, comparisons, best-of pages, buying guides, or product-led explainers.
- Strong fact-checking ability and comfort working with primary sources such as official product pages, help centers, whitepapers, docs, terms pages, fee schedules, regulatory pages, block explorers, and reputable market data sources.
- Ability to spot unsupported hype, vague claims, affiliate-style filler, and generic AI-generated copy.
- Strong understanding of on-page SEO, including search intent, keyword placement, metadata, internal linking, content structure, FAQs, and refresh strategy.
- Excellent command of English, with the ability to make complex crypto topics clear without oversimplifying them.
- Comfort working in Notion, Google Docs, WordPress or another CMS, and common SEO tools.
Required AI Skills
The editor must understand how AI tools work and how to use them effectively in an editorial workflow.
- Create clear prompts for research, outlines, rewrites, QA checks, and content refreshes.
- Use AI to reduce repetitive editorial work while keeping human judgment in control.
- Identify hallucinations, unsupported claims, generic phrasing, and false confidence in AI-assisted drafts.
- Cross-check AI output against primary sources before allowing claims into published content.
- Build repeatable AI workflows for briefs, content audits, refreshes, comparison tables, FAQs, metadata, and internal-link suggestions.
- Know when not to use AI, especially for facts that require current verification, legal or regulatory claims, project claims, prices, fees, or rankings.
- Improve AI-generated drafts so they read like expert human editorial work, not templated output.
Nice to Have
- Experience writing or editing for a crypto publication, fintech media brand, exchange, wallet company, or affiliate SEO site.
- Familiarity with Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Surfer, Clearscope, or similar tools.
- Experience editing YMYL content where accuracy, sourcing, and user trust are critical.
- Understanding of E-E-A-T and how it applies to crypto, investing, fintech, and product reviews.
- Basic understanding of tokenomics, smart contracts, vesting schedules, audits, liquidity, market cap, FDV, and on-chain data.
- Experience building or improving editorial templates, scoring methodologies, review frameworks, or content QA processes.
- Familiarity with WordPress publishing workflows.
What Good Performance Looks Like
- Published and refreshed content is accurate, useful, and commercially effective.
- Evergreen crypto and fintech pages improve in organic traffic, rankings, engagement, and conversion quality.
- Factual errors, vague claims, and unsupported statements decline across the content pipeline.
- AI-assisted drafts become faster to produce without lowering editorial quality.
- Writers submit cleaner first drafts because briefs, templates, and editorial feedback are sharper.
- Reviews and guides stay current as products, fees, rules, and market conditions change.
- The editorial standard remains clear, skeptical, and evidence-first.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You are crypto-literate, SEO-aware, and detail-oriented. You can tell the difference between a real product feature and a marketing claim. You know that claims like “supports 500+ coins,” “low fees,” “secure wallet,” or “next 100x presale” mean little unless the article explains what is actually supported, what the costs are, how custody works, and what risks the reader should understand.
You are comfortable using AI, but you do not blindly trust it. You use it as an editorial assistant, not as a replacement for judgment, verification, or subject-matter expertise.
What We Offer
The biggest thing we offer isn’t a list of perks, it’s that you will get better here. That has always been the promise, and it is why the people who come and build with us leave sharper than they arrived. We train constantly, review each other’s work, and grow as a team rather than in silos. Come here to be materially better at what you do a year from now than you are today.
Our culture is simple: work hard, play hard. We push and hold a high bar when it counts, and we genuinely enjoy the work, and each other, the rest of the time.
These are the values we actually run on:
- We grow together. Honest feedback, shared playbooks, and skills that compound. Your growth is the point, not a side effect.
- We own outcomes. Real ownership of your work and your results from day one. You are measured on impact, not tickets closed or hours logged.
- We run on AI. An AI-first, data-driven toolkit, with decisions settled by real data rather than hunches, so your work compounds instead of getting redone.
- We get shit done. A small, senior team of specialists. Fast decisions, no bureaucracy, no busywork, startup speed at a high standard.
- Flexible, fully remote with clear expectations and fast feedback.
- Competitive compensation based on experience, skill level, and scope.
