Uğur İbrahim Altay Bio
Uğur İbrahim Altay was born in 1974 in Konya. He completed his primary education in Selçuk Primary School (1985) and Mevlana Secondary School (1988) and high school in Konya Gazi High School (1991).
In 1997, he graduated from Selçuk University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Civil Engineering.
Uğur İbrahim Altay worked as a Project Engineer for a year. In 1999, he completed his military service in ŞIRNAK as a reserve officer for the 263rd term. Altay, as a civil engineer, implemented many qualified projects.
Uğur İbrahim Altay served as Vice President of the Chamber of Civil Engineers Konya Branch between 2004 and 2008. In 2008, he was elected as the Head of Konya Branch of TMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers.
Uğur İbrahim Altay, who started to work as the Mayor of Selçuklu with 29 March 2009 elections, was elected as the Mayor of Selçuklu for the second time with the elections of March 30, 2014.
He was elected as Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality on May 03, 2018, by Metropolitan Municipality Council; and he has been re-elected as the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality with the elections held on 31 March 2019.
As well as being the President of Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Uğur İbrahim Altay is also assigned as
- Co-President of United Cities And Local Governments-UCLG
- Vice-Chairman of League of Historical Cities-LHC
- Member of Executive Board of Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities-OICC
- President of Union of Municipalities of Anatolian Civilizations and
- President of Union of Konya Municipalities.
Uğur İbrahim Altay is married and has three children.
