Marc Andreessen has solidified his position as a formidable force in the technology and venture capital sectors as the co-founder and general partner of Andreessen Horowitz, a prominent venture capital firm.
Andreessen's contributions to technology are unparalleled. He co-created Mosaic, a crucial Internet browser that paved the way for widespread internet adoption. His entrepreneurial spirit didn’t stop there. He co-founded Netscape, a pivotal company in internet history, which was later acquired by AOL for $4.2 billion. In addition, he co-founded Loudcloud, which transformed into Opsware and was eventually sold to Hewlett-Packard for $1.6 billion.
From 2008 to 2018, Andreessen lent his expertise to the Hewlett-Packard board. A proud alumnus, he holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Today, Marc Andreessen actively contributes to the growth and direction of numerous companies. He holds board positions at Andreessen Horowitz portfolio companies including Applied Intuition, Dialpad, Honor, OpenGov, and Samsara. In addition to these roles, he also serves on the board of Facebook, further highlighting his influence and commitment to shaping the future of technology.
